This blog post is aimed at all physicians reading this blog:
A new survey approved by the American Society of Breast Surgeons aims to evaluate the physician prescribing pattern of vaginal estrogen in breast cancer survivors. The study’s objective is to assess the attitude, knowledge and practice pattern of physicians who manage vulvo-vaginal atrophy in this population.
The survey contains 12 questions and contributions on this topic will be a valuable complement to information gathered from other academic societies such as the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons and Society of Urodynamics and the Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction.
The goal of this survey is ultimately to lead to publication in a peer-reviewed journal highlighting the trends and generalized practice patterns of vaginal estrogen use across disciplines.
The lead investigators of this study are Lee Ann Richter MD, Shawna Willey MD, Filipa Lynce MD and Jim Han MS from MedStar Washington Hospital Center/MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
